The Pursuit of the Perfect Cast
C&E Custom Rods came about from my daughter, Emily, taking me to a rod building class for my birthday. Little did I know that I would fall in love with the craftsmanship and variability to make the perfect tool in search of the monsters. We work together with this passion driving a fun and rewarding side business. In between fishing, of course!
In the waters of New England, "good enough" doesn't hold up. From the unpredictable rips of Montauk to the deep ledges off Georges Bank, our coastline demands equipment that performs under pressure. From tog to flukes to hard tails, we continuously work to develop the perfect rod for the job.
We began with a simple mission: to build the rods we couldn't find in stores. Every piece of equipment that leaves our shop is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, engineered for the specific nuances of the North Atlantic. We don't mass-produce; we craft. Whether you are walking the canal for a 50-pound Striped Bass or pitching jigs to Bluefin at the skip, your rod is built with a singular focus on your technique, your target, and your legacy on the water. We are fishermen ourselves, with over 40 years of experience from the high lakes and creeks of the Oregon Cascades, to the large rivers and lakes in Arkansas, to the coast of New England.
